The Magic of Beads

Across the world, many traditional crafts are now facing the risk of disappearing.

Venetian glass is no exception. Each year, fewer artisans dedicate themselves to handcrafting every piece of Venetian glass. As efficiency and profit have come to take priority, mass-produced products made in other countries have become increasingly widespread.

Authentic Venetian glass carries centuries of Venetian culture and the spirit of the artisans who have passed down this tradition through generations. Hoping to share  its value and appeal with as many people as possible, I continue to travel between Japan and Italy, working to preserve Venetian glass beads and pass on Venetian culture

On this page, I would like to share my journey with Venetian glass, along with stories about the people and daily life of Venice and Murano, and the stories behind Venetian glass and beads. I hope you will stop by  from time to time as I continue to add new stories.

With deep gratitude and love for Venetian glass beads,

Maurizio Lotter
