Atelier Mauri

In December 2021, I established “Atelier Mauri,”  a Venetian glass bead workshop in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto. The atelier is the first in Japan to receive official certification from “the Comitato per la Salvaguardia dell’Arte delle Perle di Vetro Veneziane (CPVV; Committee for the Safeguarding of the Art of Venetian Glass Beads)”.

At Atelier Mauri, I pour my passion into crafting exquisite glass beads using rare antique glass sourced from workshops in Venice that have since closed.

Working with flames reaching temperatures of up to 1,200°C, I carefully shape delicate and intricate glass beads。Each bead embodies both the traditional techniques handed down through generations of Murano artisans and my own spirit of innovation.

Although Atelier Mauri is a small workshop located on the ground floor of a private residence, visitors are welcome to observe the glass bead-making process by appointment.
